Fly Tying & Dram Drinking

Fellow fishing and whiskey enthusiasts! If you're interested in learning the art of fly tying while enjoying some local whiskey, then you don't want to miss our monthly fly-tying events! Held select Thursday evenings in our cozy little tasting room in Minturn.

At these events, you'll learn from experienced fly-tying expert and Eagle River Outfitter guide, Dave Bud. This month, we'll be focusing on tying the ever-popular Pat's Rubber Leg. And whether you're a seasoned pro or a curious beginner, we've got you covered. We'll provide the supplies, including a limited number of vices, tools, and plenty of tying materials. You can just show up and start learning. Or, if you prefer, you can bring your own tying supplies and enjoy some great whiskey while we swap stories and share tips.

Throughout the year, we’ll explore simpler patterns like midges and worms, try our hands at some dry flies including caddis and hoppers, and maybe even delve into some of the more elaborate flies associated with traditional scotch drinking - the salmon fly patterns. We also welcome any ideas or suggestions!

As always, 1% of all of our whisky sales will be donated to the Eagle River Watershed Council who work to protect and advocate for our local rivers, the Upper Colorado and the Eagle River.

So join us on select Thursdays for this event series and make new connections over a dram of delicious local whisky. We promise a great time, lots of laughs, and plenty of opportunities to learn something new. See you there!
